MORE WHIMSEY FROM UKRAINE

These are some of the silly drawings I've sent off in our Facebook swap.  Little pieces of art going all over the world.  Some have gone to Canada, England, Africa, Australia and of course, the U.S.  So fun to think of one's art going all over the world.  Hope you like them.

WHIMSEY OR WHIMSY

I've often wondered at the spelling of this word so I finally went to the online dictionary.  This is what it said:

whim·sy

[hwim-zee, wim-] Show IPA
noun, plural whim·sies.
1.
capricious humor or disposition; extravagant, fanciful, or excessively playful expression: a play with lots of whimsy.
2.
an odd or fanciful notion.
3.
anything odd or fanciful; a product of playful or capricious fancy: a whimsy from an otherwise thoughtful writer.
Also, whimsey.

Origin:
1595–1605; whim(-wham) + -sy

2. caprice, whim, humor.

DRAWING: "I AM THE VINE"

"I am the vine, you are the branches, if a man remains in me, and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."  John 15:5

This was done on Hebrew text.  I really like working on foreign text.  Since we live in Ukraine, on occasion we get the opportunity to travel around here just as someone might travel around in the states.  In 2010 we were in Israel while my husband, Jeff and a couple other guys led a seminar.  I got to tag along and I'm always on the lookout for foreign ephemera on trips like this.  I just like the sense of mystery drawing over another language.  Hope you like it.

ART ON COMPUTER

A cyber friend has shared this great site with me. Thank you Michele Poehler of Ontario for such a fun place to play.  So many people on Facebook send me game requests, but I'm just not a gamer.  I wasn't a gamer on boards when I was a kid.  I didn't do puzzles (I know, I'm telling my age) and I don't do computer games, but I do art.  That is my addiction, if you could call it one.  And now I've found a way to do it on the computer as well.  That's what this whimsical little drawing is about...being creative on computer.  Oh, Michele, what have you done to me.  I love it.

DOODLING IN EASTERN EUROPE

I did this curly doodle on a piece of Italian text sent to me by my friend, Fiorella in Italy.  I think text makes a great background for a lot of things.  I'm pretty new to coloring my tangles so this is just a start for me, but enough for this piece.  I consider it done.  Hope you like it.

ART JOURNALING IN UKRAINE

This is a journal my sister gave me probably 3 or 4 years ago.  It wasn't for art.  It had lined paper, but at the time it was all I had while visiting her in California so it became an art journal, lines and all.  The top left corner says, "Leap, and the net will appear.

TANGLED DRAGONFLY

I started this for a tangle swap, but decided I had to do another since my daughter likes dragonflies so much. So instead of sending it off to someone else, I sent it to Leah in the U.S. We are rapidly approaching the date of our one year anniversary of being empty nesters. Leah is approaching one year of adapting to life in America after 16 years living in, growing up on the mission field of Ukraine.
