UKRAINIAN WINTER

Here's what winter looks like in Ukraine. The first is my front yard and then back yard both taken from my second floor window. The last is back yard from my kitchen on one of the few sunny days we had. In winter we can easily go 30 days with no sun. It's really a mixed bag, as the clouds keep things warmer. On the days when it is sunny, the temps drop way down. These are what it looked like when I left there 3 weeks ago and my husband says it has dropped much more since then. I return there on Sunday. After southern California it will be another adjustment, but I will be glad to be home, nonetheless.

TEA ANYONE?

I'm a tea drinker, well, I also drink a little coffee in the mornings. It just makes me feel better, but there is something about such an indulgence that is satisfying to the soul. We should all have such little things that give us a moment of relaxation and peace. They are the things that add to our quality of life. They are like a gift from God. He wants us to be happy and joyful so he supplies so many wonderful things in our lives that we really must stop and the thankful for. Today, I am thankful for the lovely tradition in our home of tea drinking. Do you have such things that give you a small pleasure? I'd like to hear about them.

A GREAT MIXED-MEDIA IDEA

I like looking at tutorials around the net...and there are a lot of them out there, but once in a while I run across one that is good enough to repeat here. This one will get your imagination going. Enjoy and let me know what you think of it.

ATC from UKRAINE

Another vintage artist trading card (ATC - 2 1/2 x 3 12 inches). I love using the old buttons, lace and trim. I've been collecting since the 60's, so a lot of what I have is quite vintage. It all gives such a lovely touch to a piece. Hope you like it.

IN GOD'S EYES YOU ARE PERFECT

DO YOU LIKE FAIRIES?

I just saw the cutest fairies made from Chelsea in the U.S. She can do cards where you insert someone's name or she actually does the cutest little hanging fairies in any color theme you want. The fairies are made with silk flower petals so they really are quite a garden fantasy. Stop by her blog and see for yourself how cute these are. WHO IS THIS STRANGE WOMAN IN UKRAINE?

How does one encapsulate who they are in pictures in their day-to-day life? Well, I've made a stab at it below. It covers some of the things I like to do at home and out in the world. Hope you like it. Let me know. I love your comments and always am encouraged by them. Gardening is one of my summer pastimes. I have a large flower garden. My husband took this lovely iris shot last summer. Photography is his hobby, but I digress.
This cute piece is and example of the kind of vintage art play I like to do. It was done for a swap I'm hosting on Swap-bot.com
This is one of my ladies classes. We are doing prayer scrapbooks for 2012. I love doing this sort of thing. It gives me a chance to share my faith and strengthen ladies in the art of prayer.
These two are a sample of one of my pieces of artsy fun. It went to West Virginia, USA.
This is me having fun with kids.
This picture you might call my icon. It's what identifies me across most of my social media sites. It was taken several years ago in a heavy winter not so different from what we have right now.
