Wild Poppies
This is just one of the tons of wild poppies that grow along the roadsides and in the fields of Ukraine. They have such a lovely intense color. One year, long ago, I gave our daughter Leah some cake plates with a poppy pattern as I thought that would be a fond memory of her childhood in Ukraine. Then another birthday or Christmas and I picked up a cake platter with serving knife. Anyway, what was started simply as a one-time gift is turning into a whole wedding set of poppy plates. Funny how things turn out sometimes and all from a younger years memory.

Hi Coleen,
I just got your comments, Thank you, :o), and I thought I'd pop over and say hi...
Hi!!
I love your flower pictures, they make me want to paint! Maybe I'll do an iris or poppy after I finish the 5 I have drawn out that still need paint.
Love your zentangles too, aren't they totally addictive? Going big is easier if you have a theme. Try drawing something like a curvy seashell (like a conch shell), then zentangle in and outside of it to give curve, texture and dimension. Also, you can get great ideas using flickr.com. So many tangles on there. Good luck!
Keep in touch,
Jenn
